Summary:
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines by performing the following duties.
JOB
Responsibilities:
Actively participate in and promote our safety culture by following safe work practices and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Responsible for reporting all incidents, accidents and observations of unsafe acts or conditions.
Follow all LOTO safety procedures and ensure all safety shields are in place.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Perform service according to the preventative maintenance program and schedule.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Uses skid loader and/or heavy equipment machinery when necessary.
Maintains adequate supplies for necessary repairs and maintenance.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Maintains emergency back-up electrical system in full operational state at all times.
Be part of an on call rotation where you will need to understand and respond to off-duty alarms in reasonable timeframes.
Inform farm lead and supervisor of any issues or concerns.
Schedules service contractors for repairs.
Fabricates parts, shields and or various other components as needed using welder, acetylene torch, power tools and or various other fabrication devices.
When working in poultry houses follow all biosecurity and animal welfare policies.
Report any violations to a supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and
Experience:
Combination of education, training and/or experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
The ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, ratios.
The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY:
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
The ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
